Chery to Be China's First Automaker with 5M+ Exports

On June 12, at the 2025 International Auto and Supply Chain Expo in Hong Kong, Yin Tongyue, Chairman of Chery Holding, announced that around June 20, Chery will become China's first carmaker to export over 5 million vehicles. The company's products will also officially enter the Hong Kong market this year.
Chery has maintained a strong performance in the export sector. In May of this year, the company exported 100,737 cars, marking a 7.7% year-on-year increase. From January to May, the cumulative export volume reached 443,940 vehicles, securing its position as the top Chinese automaker in exports. On average, a Chery car is exported every 29 seconds. By the end of May, Chery had accumulated over 16.7 million global customers, with more than 4.94 million of them being overseas users.
This year, Chery has accelerated its global market expansion through a multi-brand strategy. For instance, the Jietu brand's flagship model, Dasheng, was officially launched in Malaysia on April 9, marking a deeper push into the Southeast Asian market. On May 20, Jietu's Freedom (T1) was introduced to Panama and Egypt, showcasing the brand's "comfortable cabin" and "off-road performance" to global consumers.
Chery has further deepened its globalization strategy, transitioning from the product export phase (Phase 1) and overseas factory construction phase (Phase 2) to the intelligent manufacturing export phase (Phase 3), which focuses on technological innovation. On May 12, the Chery Global Innovation Ecosystem Platform, known as the Kaiyang Lab, announced a new collaboration with Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. This partnership will focus on the development of key technologies for new energy and intelligent connected vehicles, as well as promoting a global open-source initiative to share critical equipment and technologies, fostering technological innovation worldwide.
