Recently, the high-strength bolt replacement project for the entire steel truss of the Dimuhe Grand Bridge, undertaken by Futong Company, a subsidiary of the Transportation Logistics Group under Guizhou Expressway Group, has passed the completion acceptance.
The Dimuhe Grand Bridge is one of the three major bridges on the Bijie to Duge (Qian-Yunnan border) section of the Hangrui Expressway in Guizhou Province. The bridge spans a total length of 881.5 meters, with the main bridge being a single-span steel truss suspension bridge with a main span of 538 meters, featuring over 260,000 high-strength bolts. Due to its unique geographical environment, the project faced challenges such as high safety risks associated with high-altitude three-dimensional operations, low construction efficiency in confined spaces, and stringent requirements for bolt torque control.
The project commenced in June 2024. Futong Company independently innovated a "self-tracked mobile platform for the maintenance of long-span steel truss bridges," enabling simultaneous construction across multiple workfaces and overcoming the difficulty of traditional lifting platforms accessing the narrow spaces at the top of the bridge's steel truss. Additionally, during the management process, the company implemented dynamic monitoring and periodic technical assessments of the construction teams, improving the pass rate of key processes and construction efficiency. As a result, the originally planned 18-month construction period was shortened to 6 months, allowing the project to be completed ahead of schedule and successfully pass the completion acceptance.
