Voestalpine Fastening Systems has launched a new SBW4 track fastening system, upgrading the SBW3 fastening system widely used in the Polish railway infrastructure. Based on years of experience, this system has been improved in key aspects such as assembly ergonomics, electrical impedance, material weight, and adaptability to automation.
The SBW4 uses a redesigned SB3/5 cast - iron anchor and a WIW60C insulating clamp. It standardizes the clamp positioning and simplifies manual installation. The hollow anchor head design reduces the weight by 20%, which lowers production and transportation costs and reduces the environmental burden. The PWE6094R sleeper pad has an improved side - rib structure, which enhances the electrical impedance and continuously exceeds the safety standards of EN13481 - 2. At the same time, the system supports automated assembly lines, improving efficiency and reducing errors.
This system has undergone rigorous testing by the Warsaw Railway Research Institute and meets strict quality and safety standards. All parts have been patented. The SBW4 can speed up track laying, enhance its reliability, and reduce the carbon footprint, bringing both economic and environmental benefits to railway construction and maintenance.
